General Surgery services are provided by Tom Johnson, M.D. Full-time General Surgeon. Dr. Tom Johnson, Osceola Medical Center's general surgeon, joined the facility in 2000. He received his medical degree from the University of Nebraska College of Medicine. Years of intensive postgraduate training in surgery followed at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and St. Paul Ramsey Medical Center (now Regions Hospital) as well as the University of Minnesota Department of Surgery.

In addition to serving on the University of Nebraska faculty, Dr. Johnson received a year-long fellowship in trauma surgery at what is now Regions Hospital -- and another in critical care at the University of Minnesota. Most recently he served as a surgeon at the Park Nicollet Clinic in St. Louis Park. Dr. Johnson has three daughters, Caitlin, and twins Carly and Hannah.
